Gwendelynn Brown
“Southern artist creating timeless oil paintings of the people & places we cherish.”
Gwen is a romantic realist oil painter whose work focuses on portraiture and still life, celebrating children, families, and the natural world.
A lifelong southerner, Gwen returns again and again to the beauty that surrounds her in the gardens and woods of Georgia, where she makes her home. She accepts commissions and specializes in turning family photographs into lasting heirlooms.
She is a member of the Fayette Art Society, where she currently serves as president, a partner in Southern Crescent Studios where she offers curation services, and she teaches from her home studio.
“It’s been a lifelong passion to create, draw, and make the world more beautiful. I’m fascinated with light and atmosphere found in the paintings of the old masters- I hope to bring that to my work. My favorite subjects are moments that hold magic and memories. I love to paint portraits, still life compositions, and flowers from my garden.”
